Semco Maritime’s Fabrication and Services division completed their first job for Acergy Norway in early summer 2009. Working to a tight schedule, the job was delivered on time and on budget. And with two more projects with Acergy following in quick succession, a solid business partnership is in the making.
Semco Maritime’s Fabrication and Services division won a bid in May 2009 to construct 11 sea fastening frames for Acergy Norway, a leading seabed to surface engineering and construction contractor. With a small window from order to delivery, the pressure was on. Working together with Semco Maritime Oil & Gas, the job was delivered on time and on budget.
Shortly after, Acergy Norway asked Fabrication and Services to bid on the construction of a sea fastening for a ROVCAN Head support. Working alone this time, the division won the job. Meeting the deadline was crucial. Working in shifts, the job was delivered one day before due date in Kalundborg, Denmark.
Acergy Norway was on the phone again in early July, when they needed a support frame constructed and installed in Kalundborg – fast. This was a 300-hour job that needed to be turned round in only two weeks to minimise downtime. Fabrication and Services came in on time, and Acergy Norway was, yet again, a very satisfied customer.

Although not a new Semco Maritime customer, Acergy Energy hadn’t previously worked with the Fabrication and Services division. With three orders placed in quick succession, all with very tight deadlines, and all delivered within budget and on time, this looks like the beginning of a great relationship.
