New partnership gives Semco Maritime customers more fire-fighting options

A new partnership with fire safety experts, Kidde Danmark, means Semco Maritime now offers a full range of products and systems for all offshore fire-fighting needs.

Fire protection on offshore facilities calls for systems that can cope with a wide variety of flammable materials and hazardous environments. Semco Maritime’s cornerstone product, the SemSafe Watermist System is in high demand offshore, but it’s most effective for interior spaces. So, to make it easier for Semco Maritime’s customers to cover all their offshore fire-fighting needs in one go, Semco Maritime entered into partnership with Kidde Danmark, a leading fire safety provider.

Peter Thomsen, Area Manager at Semco Maritime explains: “A lot of customers in the offshore industry currently use our SemSafe Watermist System, and this continues to play a key role in our customers’ offshore fire-fighting. But we wanted to give our customers even more comprehensive protection against fire, and that’s why we have added three systems from Danish manufacturer, Kidde Danmark to our portfolio.

Certified for offshore use, Kidde Danmark’s Argonite, FM-200 and 3M Novec1230 fire-fighting systems mean Semco Maritime can now fulfil all its customers’ offshore fire-fighting needs. And this makes good sense for Semco and its customers. “Semco Maritime has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to fire-fighting,” says Peter. “With the addition of these three systems to our own SemSafe, Deluge, Foam and CO₂ systems, we can advise on the best system for our customers’ offshore environments. Each system is unique. We can tell customers which one best suits their needs; or if a combination of two or more would be the ideal solution.”  The three new products are now available from Semco Maritime’s Products and Technology division.
