Noble Resilient - helideck and system reinstatement

In early 2023, Semco Maritime undertook a project for Noble Corporation to reinstate the helideck on the Noble Resilient rig in Skagen, Denmark. From February to May, the project involved installing an aluminum deck with modern upgrades and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Despite logistical challenges, including fabrication in China and Norway, the project successfully integrated multiple systems and met all regulatory requirements.

Solution

Ensuring that engineering upgrades were incorporated with up-to-date technology and upgrades, fabricating a substructure, purchasing an aluminum deck along with all ancillary systems, then installing all to reinstate an operating helicopter landing deck on the rig while berthed at Skagen, Denmark. Arranging relevant certifying authorities inspect and approve the structure, systems and operations of the helicopter landing and refueling arrangements onboard

Highlights

• Technically challenging scope with multiple interfaces and systems to integrate into rig. Lesson learned is time to integrate and engineer more.
• Logistical challenges with some fabrication in China and Norway and mobilizing to schedule. 
• Full electrical installation of Circle H, perimeter lighting, waveradar, weather monitoring, F&G integration, PAGA upgrades, Nav lights, comms etc. 
• Firefighting install and commissioning.
• Authority inspections, ABS, Trafikstyrelsen, HVA & CAP437 9th Ed compliance.
