Siri Load Test Rings – Rope Access

Customer: ØrstedLocation: Siri platform in the Danish part of the North Sea

Semco Maritime was involved in this huge project to stablise the jacket on the Siri platform. Semco Maritime rope access technicians installed in the splash zone and subsequently decommissioned the 10 ton load test rings that were used to confirm the viability of the system.

Highlights
  • 10 individual parts fitted for the 3 rings – 3 on the west leg, 3 on the South leg and 4 on the north leg (an extra piece due to the riser caisson). The largest piece weighed 3500 kg
  • Challenging work location – the ring on the north leg was only 2 metres above the waterline
  • Complex rigging – the pieces had to be moved past a huge amount of scaffolding
