Semco Maritime has cooperated with Polish partner ETP during the past year to onboard 32 skilled employees and contribute to the generation of even more jobs by entering into close partnerships with local Polish suppliers who will contribute to both Polish and international projects. The Polish renewable energy market is developing rapidly with the prospect of establishing a number of exciting wind energy projects, which are expected to increase the production of offshore wind energy to 10 GW by 2027.

“The establishment of the new office in Poland has proceeded according to plan, and we have seen increasing interest and demand for our competences within renewable energy projects. The official inauguration of the office was celebrated with long-standing and new partners and suppliers, with whom we already work closely to contribute to the development of the Polish energy sector,” says Jacob Øbo Sørensen, Senior Vice President, Renewables, Semco Maritime.

Local presence is crucial for Semco Maritime's ability to tender for Polish projects and create a strong network in the region where several business partners and customers are already present. In September, the appointment of Semco Maritime and Bladt Industries as preferred suppliers for two offshore substations for the Baltic Power project underlined the strength of the local presence, as Jarosław Broda, a member of the management of Baltic Power, said: “Baltic Power consistently follows its schedule and selects suppliers who can boast not only a great deal of experience, but also a readiness to carry out significant part of the work in Poland. This is a very important aspect for us as an investor, which translates into building a local value chain for the offshore wind sector, because each of these companies are already intensively looking for sub-suppliers in Poland”.

With the establishment of the new office in Poland, Semco Maritime improves access to labour and strengthens the group's competitiveness in business areas with attractive growth opportunities. As a supplier to the global energy industry, Semco Maritime contributes to the green energy transition by assisting customers in ensuring cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable energy production.

The establishment of the Polish organisation is driven by Semco Maritime's strategic focus on building competencies that can contribute to the group maintaining and expanding its strong position in the Renewables and Rig Projects divisions.
