Blade handling systems for offshore wind turbines

Our consultancy engineering division has been involved in design and manufacture of an all-new blade handling system. Today, the system makes lifting, installing and shipping offshore wind turbine blades easy and less time-consuming.

Moreover, as in every project we are involved in, we delivered high quality to deadline, thanks to our highly skilled in-house engineering staff and our own advanced workshops.

Case: MHI Vestas Offshore Wind A/S

Fabrication of spreader bar

The spreader bar is designed as a combined tool so that it can be used for lifting of different load configurations. The scope also included the delivery of a complete set of lifting gear consisting of Cortland Dyneema Cordura slings, a wide body shackle and a plate shackle. All lifting gear was delivered according to DNV approval from Esbjerg, Denmark (2016).
Case: Seajacks

Seajacks Scylla

The project scope consisted of fabrication and sea fastening of the bladerack structure and tower grillage with adaptors. The sea fastening installed during this mobilisation will with minor modifications serve for three types of WTG’s. Delivered from Esbjerg, Denmark (2016).

Case: Bilfinger Marine & Offshore Systems

Pacific Orca

The project scope consisted of fabrication of 342 tons of sea fastening and handling equipment to facilitate the mobilisation of the foundations for the Sandbank offshore wind farm. Scope included installation of the sea fastening and handling equipment on board the Pacific ORCA in Esbjerg, Denmark (2015).

Case: A2SEA

Sea Challenger

The overall project scope consisted of fabrication and installation of helideck sub-structure on board the A2SEA Sea Challenger. The scope included project management from fabrication phase to installation phase including handover of the project to A2SEA. Delivered from Esbjerg, Denmark (2015).

Case: Siemens Wind Power A/S

Transport frames for gearbox

The overall scope for the project consisted of design, calculation, DNV design approval and fabrication of 20 feet transport frames for gearbox and main shaft for a 4 MW wind turbine. Total weight of approx. 40 ton. Delivered from Esbjerg, Denmark (2015).
