New Business Opportunities
The geopolitical situation and the massive investments in defence and security open new opportunities for Semco Maritime. We are therefore now expanding our focus to include the defence sector, recognising it as a potential business area where we can effectively leverage our extensive experience in maritime operations and complex offshore and infrastructure projects.
Bringing Our Competences into Play
We believe that our long experience in the offshore industry can be leveraged in the military buildup taking place in Denmark and across Europe. There will be a demand for companies like us that have specialised knowledge and skills, whether it involves integrating systems into a platform or building and assembling larger constructions.
Co-owners of Danske Flådeskibe K/S
The upgrading of vessels for the Danish Navy is a concrete example. We took the first major step into the defence area when we became co-owners of Danske Flådeskibe K/S with the ambition to design, produce, and service frigates and Arctic vessels for the future Danish fleet. This is a task we can accomplish because we have experience in building and assembling large, complex constructions.
Investment in Stormborn
Another area we are looking towards is the increasing focus on better protecting society against hybrid attacks, including enhanced surveillance of critical infrastructure. Therefore, we took another commercial step in August 2025 with the investment in Stormborn, which makes innovative, unmanned vessels for monitoring critical maritime infrastructure. We see great potential in Stormborn and a good synergy with our experiences, competencies, and production capacity from the offshore industry
