Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), today announced a partnership with Semco Maritime, a leading international service provider for offshore wind energy projects, as the latest initiative included in the company’s Commonwealth Wind proposal.

Hai Long Offshore Wind Project has awarded a consortium consisting of Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C a Preferred Supplier Agreement for two offshore substations for the Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3 projects, which will be established off the Taiwanese coast and deliver more than 1 GW of green wind energy when the projects are commissioned in 2025-2026.

Semco Maritime will establish a new office in Gdynia with 15-20 specialised employees before end of 2021. The Polish organisation will be an integrated part of the Group’s international project teams and support the growth within renewable energy projects internationally and in Poland..

Semco Maritime has won a study to identify the break-even point of HVDC and HVAC transmission for a large-scale offshore wind farm.

Building from the contracts with Vineyard Wind and Mayflower Wind, Semco Maritime has gained significant experience with US offshore wind design and has now developed a library on how to deliver US offshore wind transmission projects meeting technical and regulatory requirements.

Semco Maritime to develop and optimize the electrical infrastructure for European Energy A/S’s nearshore wind farms in Jammerland Bay and Omø Syd, Denmark

Wind energy and sustainability pioneer, Ørsted, has awarded Semco Maritime a 1-year service contract for programmed preventive maintenance on the two offshore substations for wind farms Borkum Riffgrund 1 and Borkum Riffgrund 2 in Germany.
